Peter has worked in the Lloyd’s marketplace for over thirty years and co-founded the White Bear Capital Group in 2016. Peter is Chief Executive Officer of White Bear Managers Limited and a Director of Blenheim Underwriting Limited. In 2000 Peter was appointed CEO and one of the founders of Cathedral Capital Limited from start up to the sale to Lancashire Holdings Limited in 2013, remaining as CEO of Cathedral within the Lancashire Group until 2016. Prior to joining Cathedral, Peter had 14 years of Insurance Industry experience including being appointed to Managing Director of Wren Lloyd’s Advisors in 1995, working on establishing the first generation of Lloyd’s Corporate Capital Vehicles. Peter holds a BSC (Econ) in Economics and Geography from University College London.

John holds a degree in Commerce from University College Cork and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992.

John joined the White Bear Group in 2018 to establish the Specialty Reinsurance Account for Blenheim and is also Chief Underwriting Officer of White Bear Managers. Prior to this John worked in the market for over 30 years in both the Lloyds and Company markets, focusing on all classes of reinsurance business as well as supporting and setting up MGA platforms. Before joining White Bear Group in 2018 John was Head of Treaty Underwriting at Talbot Syndicate 1183 where he worked for 19 years, prior to that he was a Treaty Underwriter at Reliance National UK and from the start an assistant underwriter at R. C. Barber Syndicate 512 working across both insurance and reinsurance lines.

Nick joined the White Bear Group in 2016 to help establish Syndicate 5886 at Lloyd’s of which he is now Active Underwriter. Prior to this Nick worked for over 35 years in both the Lloyd’s and Company markets, focusing on primarily US Treaty Reinsurance. Before joining White Bear Group in 2016, Nick was the US Treaty Underwriter for Cathedral Syndicate from 2002. Prior to that he was head of the Treaty Reinsurance team at SVB Syndicates. He started his career as an underwriting assistant in 1985 at the Excess Ins Co.

Stephen joined the White Bear Group in 2017 as Chief Risk Officer. Stephen started his career in Lloyd’s in 1995 joining DPMann/Faraday, initially underwriting Specie and Fine Art before transferring to the loss modelling team in 2001. He subsequently joined Ascot in 2002 where he headed the Aggregation and Modelling team prior to joining Cathedral in 2003. He headed the Cathedral exposure management team from then until 2016. Steve holds a BA(Hons) degree in Business and is ACII qualified.

Derek joined the White Bear Group in 2019 to head up the Legal and Compliance function for the Group. Derek has worked in the Lloyd’s Insurance Market since 1969, spending his first fifteen years with the Corporation of Lloyd’s, in various managerial roles in membership and regulatory departments. Since 1986 he has held various executive directorships in both Lloyds’ Members and Managing Agencies including being compliance director of Cathedral Underwriting Ltd from 2000 – 2017. He served as a member of the LMA’s Regulatory Committee from 2002-2011.

Sharon joined the White Bear Group in 2019 to head up the Group Finance function. Prior to this, Sharon was UK CFO and Group Controller at Fidelis Insurance since its inception in 2015. Previously she was at Catlin for six and a half years in various roles including Head of UK Reporting. Sharon is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England Wales, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2005.

Simon started his insurance career in 1982 at Lloyd’s brokers THB before joining DP Mann/Faraday Syndicate 435 in 1995. He was appointed Underwriting Director in 2001 heading up the worldwide Direct and Facultative Property operation, which at that time was one of the largest in the market. Simon joined Cathedral Syndicate 2010 in 2003 to establish a Property D&F account which he headed up and successfully ran for the next thirteen years. He left Cathedral in 2016, joining Blenheim in 2017 to head up Blenheim’s then newly established Direct & Facultative property account.

Tessa joined the White Bear Group in 2017 as Company Secretary for all group companies and as Compliance Manager to Blenheim. In 2019, Tessa was appointed Legal and Compliance Director for White Bear Managers Limited.
Tessa holds a Master’s degree in Law from Kings College London and started her compliance career at Lloyd’s in 2010 at Cathedral Underwriting Limited before moving to head up the Regulatory Affairs team at MS Amlin in 2012.

Grant joined Blenheim in 2016 as Head of Claims. His earlier claims career was spent at Municipal Mutual and GAB Robins where he left as Technical Claims Manager in 2000 to join Catlin Syndicate as Head of Property Claims. He joined Cathedral in 2005, initially as D&F Claims Manager, rising to Head of Claims for Cathedral Syndicates 2010 and 3010. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Chartered Insurance Practitioner and Associate of the Institute of Arbitrators.

Mark has worked in the Lloyd’s market since 1987. He started his career at Syndicate 566 and went on to become one of the founders of Cathedral Syndicate 2010. He has experience writing all short tail reinsurance classes but specialises in non-marine Property Treaty. Mark is also responsible for Outwards Reinsurance placements at Blenheim.
