Verde Financial Lines currently incorporates stand-alone Commercial Crime, stand-alone Directors & Officers Liability and blended Management Liability solutions with a unique focus on sustainability.

Commercial Crime

The portfolio consists of primary and excess risks with a particular focus on sustainable businesses located in territories with an established corporate governance and audit environment such as the UK, Europe and North America. Backed by 100% Lloyd’s capacity, and with a max line size of £5m, Verde aims to be the go-to market for Commercial Crime risks in London, delivering a highly specialist offering to market.

Management Liability

The portfolio consists of primary and excess risks with a particular focus on sustainable businesses located in UK or Europe with an asset base up to GBP 2bn. Backed 100% by long term company market security, we are able to offer stand-alone Directors and Officers Liability (D&O) coverage or blended Management Liability (ML) solutions incorporating D&O, Corporate Legal Liability, Pension Trustee Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Crime. Our max line is £5m for D&O, rising to £10m for ML.

James Pallett

Senior Underwriter


James has been in the Financial Lines market for over 10 years as both broker and underwriter before co-founding Verde, a trading name of White Bear Managers, in 2023. Starting with Commercial Crime, Verde will grow a financial lines portfolio that differentiates its underwriting by having an enhanced focus on sustainability. Sustainability is a particular interest and specialism for James having completed the Business Sustainability Management Course run by the University of Cambridge.

James Reynolds

Senior Underwriter


James has been in the Professional and Financial Risks market for over 17 years, starting his career at RSA in 2006. At RSA, he became a Senior Underwriter in the Management Liability team and worked as a Global Development Manager focusing on the growth of Professional and Financial Lines across the UK. He then moved to Navigators as a Senior Underwriter focusing on D&O. Since 2023, James is a co-founder of Verde, a trading name of White Bear Managers. Following the completion of the Business Sustainability Management Course run by the University of Cambridge, James is a key advocate for promoting sustainability within Insurance.
