Direct Property
The Direct Property portfolio constitutes a worldwide book of open market and binding authority business.
Whilst the focus of the account is driven by North American ‘soft’ occupancy (particularly Municipalities, Hospitality and Real Estate schedules), the team will consider most classes and territories.
Open market accounts are written direct or as facultative reinsurance and on full value, primary and excess of loss layers. Risks range from single small locations to Fortune 500 schedules.
Simon King
Senior Underwriter
Simon started his insurance career in 1982 at Lloyd’s brokers THB before joining DP Mann/Faraday Syndicate 435 in 1995. He was appointed Underwriting Director in 2001 heading up the worldwide Direct and Facultative Property operation, which at that time was one of the largest in the market. Simon joined Cathedral Syndicate 2010 in 2003 to establish a Property D&F account which he headed up and successfully ran for the next thirteen years. He left Cathedral in 2016, joining Blenheim in 2017 to head up Blenheim’s then newly established Direct & Facultative property account.

Simon Anthony
Underwriter
Simon started his career at MSF Pritchard, where he worked for eight years as an Underwriter within their worldwide property team. He then joined W/R/B Underwriting in 2012 to assist in developing the worldwide property account. In 2016 he was promoted to Head of Property, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the portfolio alongside several other lines of business. He joined Blenheim in 2020 to assist in the development of the D&F portfolio. Simon holds a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of York and has achieved the Advanced Diploma in Insurance.

Nick Adams
Underwriter
Nick started his career in 2001 working in the claims department of Catlin Syndicate. After five years he joined Cathedral, initially working in claims, handling property, liability and other specialty lines. In 2008 he joined the D&F underwriting team of Syndicate 2010, initially as an underwriting assistant before becoming an underwriter. He left Cathedral in 2016, joining Blenheim in the same year, to help establish and underwrite for Blenheim’s Direct & Facultative property account.
